Who Open Portal in Deadpool & Wolverine

Who Opens the Portal in Deadpool & Wolverine?

The trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine was awesome, and everyone is still talking about it. Logan was seen in his classic costume, and there is a powerful villain like Cassandra Nova, who is not widely known among fans. But everyone’s minds are stuck on one thing: Whose portal is that at the end of the trailer where Deadpool and Logan jumped? Who opens the portal in Deadpool and Wolverine? It’s a brilliant way for sorcerers to travel, using sling rings to create portals called interdimensional portals. These portals can take sorcerers anywhere in their universe. But to create the portal, its user needs to be a sorcerer, and its appearance in the Deadpool and Wolverine trailer tells us that there is a sorcerer in the movie who is creating portals for Deadpool and Wolverine.

Many fans are mentioning Doctor Strange, many are talking about Wong being there, and many fans are suspecting Ned, but these three are not the only ones who can open a portal in the Void at the End of Time. Today, we’re going to discuss who opened the portal for Deadpool and Wolverine in the Void and where it’s taking them.

You’ll first suspect Doctor Strange when you see this portal anywhere. Wherever you see a portal, the first name that comes to mind is Doctor Strange. This portal is opening in the Void, and there’s a good chance that it’s not the main Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Doctor Strange doing this, but it could be a pruned variant of Doctor Strange in the Void. Some fans have also put forward the theory that Deadpool and Wolverine are going through this portal to the Battle of Earth in Endgame when Doctor Strange asks Wong if anyone else is left, although the chances of this happening are very slim because the Battle of Endgame is happening in a multiverse Earth while the Void is at the end of time, and portals usually only transport people within the same dimension. So, if Doctor Strange created the portal, it would be really exciting, but the chances of Doctor Strange appearing there are not as high as those of Wong.

Wong, currently the Sorcerer Supreme, can also open this portal. From the events of Infinity War to the events of Endgame, a period of 5 years when Doctor Strange was not on Earth, Wong became the new Sorcerer Supreme, and since then, we have seen him in several places: first fighting Abomination in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, then explaining to Doctor Strange in No Way Home that the spell to make everyone forget Spider-Man’s identity is dangerous, and so on. Wong has appeared in Multiverse of Madness, helping Doctor Strange with his wisdom, and then in She-Hulk, extracting Emil Blonsky. Wong is currently all over the MCU. So, there’s a higher chance that Wong is helping Deadpool and Wolverine escape from Nova through the portal, and being the Sorcerer Supreme, Wong can do anything with his infinity spells.

But there is another new sorcerer who might be able to open the portal. Ned Leeds, Spider-Man’s friend from No Way Home, is unforgettable with his portal where Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man appeared in front of us. Ned’s control over his portal isn’t that good, plus he doesn’t have anyone to train him. So far, all the portals he has opened have been by mistake. So it’s possible that a portal accidentally opened in the Void, and Deadpool and Wolverine immediately jumped into Ned’s dining room, and the situation could be as awkward as possible. But there is a problem: a sorcerer’s portal can mostly only take them within their own dimension. This means that an amateur like Ned can’t open a portal from Earth to the Void at the End of Time. Some fans were saying that Ned’s portal in No Way Home brought Spider-Men from another universe to their universe, but there was no portal between two universes here. These Spider-Men first came into the MCU due to a glitch by Doctor Strange, then from there to Ned’s house.

It’s not that a sorcerer’s portal can’t travel between two Earths. In the first Doctor Strange movie, Mordo told Doctor Strange that this portal could take sorcerers anywhere in the multiverse. Which means it’s possible, just not from Ned, but there is a being we’ve seen opening a multiverse portal. Supreme Strange can open a portal anywhere in the multiverse. We first witnessed this when Supreme Strange came to meet Kahhori in season two of What If?. We all know that Supreme Strange has consumed powerful beings to achieve this level of power. Plus, his obsession with restoring his reality had driven him mad. But despite being a powerful sorcerer and having the power to open multiverse portals, this portal shown in the trailer cannot be Supreme Strange’s portal. Also, Supreme Strange has died.

There are chances that it’s another Sorcerer Supreme who is close to Supreme Strange’s level, and we know such a sorcerer: the Ancient One. The Ancient One was a very powerful sorcerer. We first heard about the multiverse in the MCU from the Ancient One’s mouth, where they showed Strange a glimpse of the multiverse. Plus, the Ancient One also mentioned that the magic sorcerers use harnessed energy from another dimension of the multiverse, which they use to cast spells, create shield weapons. Now there’s a very good chance that the Ancient One can travel in the multiverse. But there’s a small problem: the Ancient One in the MCU is dead, but in the Void, where there can be thousands of Ancient Ones, a pruned one could help Deadpool and Wolverine.

There is still another candidate who can achieve multiverse travel. Her specialty is going anywhere in the multiverse: America Chavez. America Chavez can literally go anywhere in the multiverse. Technically, we should all be keeping an eye on her throughout the entire Multiverse Saga. America Chavez is also receiving sorcerer training, where she can make her multiverse travel even more fun. And she needs to make this travelling fun because, remember when she and Strange were escaping from Wanda towards Earth-838, their journey was very strange. In this case, it makes more sense to use a portal properly for traveling in the multiverse, and there are very good chances that a multiversal being like America is helping Deadpool and Wolverine escape from the Void.

There is a possibility that, Cassandra Nova herself can open the portal. She is the evil twin sister of Charles Xavier. She has every power Charles Cavier has. From the trailer, it looks like she will control Alioth, and she will have domination in void. She may take away the sling ring from any variant of Doctor Strange in the void.

While we are discussing all these talented sorcerers on one hand, we shouldn’t say that Deadpool and Wolverine are in a crazy place like the Void. This is a multiverse movie, and the bigger fact is that this is a Deadpool movie, where it’s better to expect the unexpected. If Deadpool himself pulls out a sling ring from his pocket or somewhere and creates a portal, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to fans. He’s Deadpool; who else would do craziness if not him? Plus, if we extend the search domain of these sorcerers beyond the MCU, you won’t believe how many people can open portals. For example, remember the related concept in Infinity War where Doctor Strange wears Tony’s armor, and Tony Stark wears the Eye of Agamotto, where he becomes the sorcerer. Also, in Earth-2099, Tony Stark is the Sorcerer Supreme, so how wild would it be if Iron Man had opened this portal? Do you know another amazing character who is a sorcerer and would make a lot of sense to appear here in Deadpool and Wolverine? That is Doctor Doom. Doctor Doom’s mastery of the mystical arts in comics is on the level of Doctor Strange. Where the Fox universe is pruned, why couldn’t Doctor Doom, who is a Fox character, appear? The third wild candidate could be Ghost Rider. In Agents of Shield, Ghost Rider creates a portal just like sorcerers by spinning his chain. What could be wilder than him going to the Dark Dimension? I would mention Clea too, but her dagger-created portal is very different from the sorcerers’ portal. Besides, there is another mutant who holds mystical powers similar to an MCU sorcerer. Forge, whom we’ve also seen recently in X-Men ’97, can also create a portal with his desert magic. It could be that Nova is also a sorcerer, but this has not been seen in comics or any other adaptation so far.

Deadpool and Wolverine have gone into reshoots, which is normally done to change the ending or to add cameos. Now, that there are rumors of everyone from Jennifer Garner’s Elektra to Famke Janssen’s Jean being in the movie, what other cameos will Marvel Studios add to this film? Normally, fans are scared of reshoots, but where there’s a combination of the multiverse and the Void, what can’t happen? Currently, this movie is on the verge of breaking the Joker’s record, which is the highest-grossing R-rated movie so far, and with the hype that’s currently going on, it doesn’t seem very difficult that this record will be broken.
