Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 arrives on Disney+ on March 24, and if the trailers are any indication, it’s going to be the show that Season 1 was always trying to be.
Thirteen days out, Marvel has confirmed pretty much every major piece of the puzzle โ the cast, the stakes, the suit, the timeline. Here’s everything you need before Hell’s Kitchen opens back up.
The Setup: Where Season 1 Left Off
Season 1 ended on a brutal note. Mayor Wilson Fisk used a coordinated citywide blackout as cover to declare martial law, making masked vigilantes public enemies in New York. Matt Murdock, in a genuinely insane final act of instinct, dove in front of Fisk to stop a Bullseye assassination attempt โ and took the bullet himself.
Season 2 picks up roughly six months later. Matt is still alive, still Daredevil, and officially the most wanted man in the city he’s trying to protect. The official tagline โ Resist. Rebel. Rebuild. โ isn’t subtle about where this is going.
The New Suit (and Why It Matters)
This is the part fans have been waiting for since the Netflix days. Charlie Cox confirmed at Disney’s upfronts last year that Daredevil would finally be wearing the iconic suit: all black, dark-red lenses, and the double-D chest emblem that was conspicuously absent for most of Season 1.

It’s the Shadowlands suit, lifted almost directly from the comics. The DD logo alone has sent fans into orbit, and honestly, the reaction is completely justified. This is the version of the costume that was always supposed to anchor this character in the MCU.
Jessica Jones Is Back โ and It’s a Big Deal
Krysten Ritter returns as Jessica Jones for the first time since her Netflix series ended in 2019. Marvel TV boss Brad Winderbaum described her role as comparable in scale to Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in Season 1 โ meaning she’s not a cameo, she’s a co-lead for a significant stretch of the season.
Marvel has also confirmed Season 2 will catch us up on what Jessica has been doing for the past seven years. Winderbaum teased there are “very cool surprises” about her current life, and the fan theory circulating loudest on Reddit is that she and Luke Cage now have their daughter Danielle โ a storyline straight from The Pulse comics. That would also set up Luke Cage’s own MCU return, which Mike Colter has been actively teasing this week.
The New Faces: Lillard, Taylor, and a Returning Swordsman
Matthew Lillard joins as Mr. Charles, described as a mysterious political operative who doesn’t exactly cower in Kingpin’s presence. Lillard has teased their dynamic as a genuine clash of wills โ someone Fisk can’t just crush. That’s a rare character type in this show’s world, and it’s worth paying attention to.
Lili Taylor plays the Governor of New York, a political opponent to Fisk whose presence suggests Season 2 is going to take the political machinery of Fisk’s corrupt empire further than Season 1 did. And the March 5 TV spot confirmed Tony Dalton is back as Jack Duquesne โ Swordsman โ who first appeared in Hawkeye and showed up in Born Again Season 1. He’s clearly building toward something in Matt’s resistance network.
One notable absence: Jon Bernthal won’t be back as the Punisher this season. He’s getting his own special presentation later in 2026, which will directly set up his role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The creative teams on both projects have confirmed they’ve been coordinating continuity throughout production.
What to Expect
Showrunner Dario Scardapane framed Season 2 as the second half of a single story that began in Season 1 โ but with one critical difference. Unlike the first season, which was famously rebuilt mid-production from a scrapped 18-episode order, Season 2 was written start-to-finish with a clear creative vision. The cast has been emphatic that this is the Daredevil show fans have been waiting for since the Netflix days ended.
Eight episodes. March 24. Tuesdays on Disney+.
The question isn’t whether this season delivers. The question is what it leaves unresolved heading into Season 3 โ which is already confirmed for 2027, and will almost certainly feed directly into Avengers: Doomsday in December.
