Which universes are in Avengers: Doomsday?
Marvel says Avengers: Doomsday brings together heroes from three distinct universes, but it hasn’t named them. The three that fit the cast are Earth-616 (the main MCU), Earth-828 (the Fantastic Four’s world from First Steps) and Earth-10005 (the Fox X-Men universe). Earth-838 and the mystery Earth-1127 also matter, but Marvel hasn’t placed them in the film.
Spoiler note: this covers post-credits scenes from The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Thunderbolts* and Avengers: Endgame Encore. It has no Doomsday plot spoilers.

How many universes does Doomsday have?
Three, according to Marvel’s synopsis. Kevin Feige has said three different Earths are literally colliding, as ComicBookMovie.com reported in July. Dark Horizons reads those three as the main MCU, the Fantastic Four’s and the X-Men’s. A FandomWire piece says a scooper claims six. Rumored, and Marvel hasn’t commented.
What is Earth-616?
The main MCU Earth, home of the Avengers and the Thunderbolts/New Avengers. IGN calls it “the main MCU”. Before the Multiverse Saga, fans labeled it Earth-199999, according to CBR. CBR also notes that the MCU’s 616 isn’t the same universe as the comics’ 616, and that after Loki its status as the Sacred Timeline is unclear.

What is Earth-828?
The world of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The film opens with a title card naming it, and Variety calls it retro-futuristic and visibly different from the MCU’s 616. The number is Jack Kirby’s birthday, August 28 (8/28), a tribute confirmed in the end credits and by director Matt Shakman.
It connects to Doomsday in three ways. Doctor Doom appears in the film’s mid-credits scene. The Fantastic Four’s ship arrives in Earth-616’s sky in the Thunderbolts* post-credits scene, per 9to5Marvel. And a closing title card promises the team returns in Doomsday. Galactus doesn’t eat Earth-828, Time notes, so the team’s home may survive. Its fate is unknown.

What is Earth-10005?
The Fox X-Men universe. The Endgame Encore TVA scene names it, and NME ties it to the universe of the Fox films. Doomsday’s marketing shows Professor X, Magneto and Cyclops, and our X-Men cast breakdown lists who’s confirmed. Marvel hasn’t said whether the X-Men in Doomsday come from Earth-10005, and The Direct earlier suggested they might not. Reported, not confirmed.

What are Earth-838 and Earth-1127?
Earth-838 is the Illuminati’s world from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where John Krasinski’s Reed Richards lives. 9to5Marvel lists it among the confirmed universes, but Marvel’s synopsis counts three, so treat it as unconfirmed.
Earth-1127 is the mystery. In the Endgame Encore TVA scene, Earth-10005 and Earth-1127 begin to collide, with each world firing missiles at the other. More incursions follow, and the TVA’s Ouroboros says the multiverse is collapsing. Marvel has never named 1127 anywhere else, and reports differ on how many universes light up the map. The TVA scene didn’t play in every format, per Wikipedia.

How do the universes connect?
| Universe | Home of | Named on screen in | Doomsday link |
|---|---|---|---|
| Earth-616 | Avengers, Thunderbolts/New Avengers | The MCU | Main setting |
| Earth-828 | Fantastic Four | First Steps (2025) | Ship arrival, Doom mid-credits scene, return card |
| Earth-10005 | Fox X-Men | Endgame Encore (TVA scene) | X-Men cast; collides with 1127 |
| Earth-838 | Illuminati | Multiverse of Madness (2022) | Not confirmed |
| Earth-1127 | Unknown | Endgame Encore (TVA scene) | Collides with 10005 |
Is a final incursion coming between Earth-616, 828 and 10005?
ComicBookMovie.com reads the Encore scene as setting up a final incursion among those three. That’s their reading, not Marvel’s. Speculation: the three universes Marvel names line up with the three Earths on screen, so the collision looks like the film’s engine. Our incursion explainer covers how it works in the comics.
